**31 ALERT DAYS FOR TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY FOR DANGEROUS HEAT CONDITIONS**
Today marks the beginning of an intense heatwave that will persist for the next several days, potentially bringing the hottest temperatures of the year. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 9 PM tonight and will likely be extended into the coming days. With high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s combined with oppressive humidity, heat index values could reach around 110°F on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Today, expect plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the mid-90s. When combined with high humidity, it could feel as hot as 107°F in the Tennessee Valley. There is a very slight chance of a few afternoon pop-up showers, but not much relief from the heat is expected.
As the workweek begins, temperatures will continue to climb into the upper 90s, with "feels like" temperatures potentially nearing 110°F by Tuesday and Wednesday. 31 Alert Days have been issued due to the dangerous heat, and it will be important to follow heat safety precautions to avoid heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
